Promisedate turns the buy button into a pre-order button with a ship-date note, a limit and an optional deposit. It watches each order against its date, writes the delay notice when a date slips, counts the days the FTC's Mail Order Rule gives the buyer, and tells you when an order must be cancelled and refunded. You set the dates and record why each one is real. Deposits and refunds run through your own Shopify payments. Not legal advice.

- Take an order only with a reasonable basis to ship by the date stated - or within 30 days if none is stated (50 if the buyer applies for credit).
- If it cannot ship in time, offer the buyer - before the date, unasked - the choice to wait or cancel for a prompt refund, with a new date or saying none can be given.
- A new date 30 days late or less: silence is agreement. More, or no date: the order is cancelled unless shipped within 30 days of the original date or the buyer says yes. Miss the new date: offer again.
- A prompt refund: within seven working days; a credit to a charge account, within one billing cycle. The basis for each ship date is the shop's own record. Not legal advice.

How am I billed?
$7 a month through Shopify's own app billing, on your normal Shopify bill. No card is taken here and there is no share of your sales.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Shopify tells the app the moment you uninstall, and the app erases what it kept for your store. Customer data requests from Shopify are answered the same way. The full detail is on the app's own privacy page.
