Hearsay adds a "How did you hear about us?" question to the thank-you page. Answers are shuffled per buyer so the first is not over-picked, with Other last. Typed Other answers are sorted onto channels by keywords you set. Totals show share, average order and first-order share, with a warning when there are too few answers to read. Type in what each channel cost that month and see an estimated cost per order and sales per $1, or a note when nobody named a channel you paid for.

Hearsay adds a "How did you hear about us?" question to the thank-you page.
Shops paying for ads on more than one channel who cannot tell which works. The incumbent (Fairing, 5.0 stars, 196 reviews) is free to 200 orders a month, then $49 to 500, $99 to 1,000, $149 to 5,000.
What it does
Inside Hearsay
People pick the first answer on a list more than they should, so each order sees its own order of answers (the same every time for that order); "Other" stays last.
Each channel has keywords ("insta", "ig", "reel"); a typed answer matching one channel counts there and the Other answers page shows which word matched. None, or two channels, stays Other.
answers, share, average order, first orders, and "too few to read" under 20 answers. The response rate is shown with every total. A follow-up ("Which podcast?") is totalled under its channel.
type what each channel cost that month; answers are scaled up to all orders (labelled an estimate), giving cost per order and sales per $1, with a plain verdict — or "Nobody named it" when money went to a channel no buyer mentioned.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Shopify tells the app the moment you uninstall, and the app erases what it kept for your store. Customer data requests from Shopify are answered the same way. The full detail is on the app's own privacy page.
