Progeny Apps / Orders, stock & the back room / Sluice
For shopify merchantsHolds, splits and routes orders by stock, location and preorder date, without changing any price.
For shops with several locations, backorders or preorders. Open orders are planned oldest first: high fraud risk and bad addresses are held, preorder lines wait for their release date, in-stock lines ship from as few locations as possible, and what is short waits on the earliest purchase order. Each split keeps every price, discount and currency as sold, and nothing is refunded. A board shows what is waiting on what, and flags hand holds where the stock has since arrived. No per-split charge.

The problem
One order desk for Shopify: hold, split and route every order by stock, location and preorder date — with no per-split charge, every price and currency kept exactly as sold, and a board that shows what is waiting on what.
It answers what a merchant shipping from more than one place actually asks:
- Should this order ship at all yet (fraud risk, a bad address)?
- What can go now, from which location — and can it go in ONE parcel?
- What is waiting, and on which purchase order or release date?
- What is backordered that nobody has ordered more of?
- Which order have I been sitting on for days when the stock is right there?
What it does
Inside Sluice
open orders by plan (ships now / part ships now / waiting / held), parcels to send, units waiting, every problem in words with a link, and the holds the rules placed.
the open list, oldest first; and each order in detail: its lines as sold, the plan as lanes (ship now from X, waits on PO-118, preorder, backordered), the price proof line by line, and the exact Shopify calls. Per order: ship-together or ship-when-ready, risk, address problem, release a hand hold.
every waiting unit three ways: by purchase order (coming vs promised), by product, by date. Backorders with no PO stand out.
every open order by days sitting, in buckets (0–1, 2–3, 4–7, 8+), amber and red by age, with the next thing to do. An order waiting on a known date is "waiting as planned".
stock per location (type a number and every plan moves), what is left after every order is promised, preorder release dates, purchase orders with ETA and "Mark received".
shop name and currency, the default preference, the stale hold and ageing limits, the "as of" day, look, backup / restore / sample / erase. Records live in this browser under the localStorage key sluice.v1. Save a backup file from Settings now and then. A record that cannot be read is set aside under its own key, never written over.
